The unofficial, community-driven Framework wiki
Framework Computer Inc. is a US-based consumer electronics company creating customizable and repairable laptops. Framework is a proponent of the Right to Repair movement, designing their products to be easily opened and repaired. They also sell replacement parts on their website, including kits that allow users to upgrade an older Framework Laptop to a newer generation.
Framework Laptop 13 is Framework’s first product. Initially branded simply as Framework Laptop, the company rebranded the product as Framework Laptop 13 in 2023 to distinguish it from the newly-announced Framework Laptop 16. The initial version featured 11th Gen Intel Core CPUs, but it has since been updated with 12th and 13th Gen Intel CPUS, as well as AMD 7040 series offerings.
Framework Laptop 16 is Framework’s second product, announced March 23, 2023 at the Next Level event. Pre-orders opened July 18 of the same year. The first laptops shipped in February, 2024. Framework Laptop 16 is available with AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS and Ryzen 9 7940HS CPUs. Customers can optionally add an AMD Radeon RX7700S GPU, which connects via the expansion bay.
