The AMD Radeon RX 7700S Graphics Module is one of two expansion bay modules launched alongside Framework Laptop 16. It is the only GPU module currently available for purchase. Installing the module increase’s Framework Laptop 16’s depth by 20.2mm, the rear section height by 3mm and the total weight by 300g.1

Though Framework said that graphics modules were possible using the expansion bay system at the Framework Next Level event March 23, 2023, they did not announce the RX 7700S GPU module until Framework Laptop 16 became available for pre-order on July 18, 2023.2 3

Customers who pre-ordered Framework Laptop 16 with the RX 7700S Graphics Module received a Starfield Premium Edition game code as part of an AMD rewards promotion.4 3

Specs

The RX7700S uses a Navi 33 GPU die, based on AMD’s RDNA 3.0 architecture, featuring 32 compute units, 2048 GPU cores, 128 texture mapping units and 64 raster output units.5 The module has a 100W TDP and 8GB of GDDR6 vRAM with a 128-bit bus width operating at an effective memory clock of 18 Gbps for a total bandwidth of 288 GB/s.1

Compatibility

The AMD Radeon RX7700S Graphics Module is compatible with Framework Laptop 16. It requires the graphics module interposer.
